My conclusion is that it isn't necessarily VideReDo causing the problem, but something has changed in the header of the file with the insert that is tripping up V.18 (but not V.13). If I excise the same section ( this is before the insert) the file will not open in V.18. I used VideoReDo to take out a small section of the original file (The one that does open in V.18) and that section also opens in V.18. The file plays perfectly in all media players and my smart TV. I rendered the re-edited section to the settings of the original file and then replaced that section using VideoReDo. I needed to re-edit a small section of the original video, but did not want to re-render the entire video again just for the small change. * I should explain what I did with VideoReDo. All of them play without any issue in V.13 on the same Win10pro machine. That file will still not play in Vegas V.18. I have taken the file from Videoredo and demuxed and remuxed it using MKIToolnix, then changing it back to. The file that will not open in V.18 was simply processed a little in Videoredo.* I've never previously had any issue with Videoredo's files not opening in Vegas. I'm not seeing the difference in file info.
Other files do open, and the effects now work in real time. Simply loading the above file into V.18, not even putting it into the timeline, crashes V.18. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem remains. No joy! I installed 522.30 and have the same problem.
